according to my husband..He even gets close to the yellow line and I am having a fit..He is not allowed to take his eyes off the road..I find myself driving even though he is behind the wheel..I can't even look at the scenery because he is looking too, so I have to drive, even though I am in the passenger seat...LOL..I told him today on our way back from his Doctor's appt. that if we get in a wreck, he better hope he is dead or at least can crawl faster than me..because if I get my hands on him he is gonna wish he never met me...okay I wouldn't hurt him, but sometimes it drives me batty...I just read this to my husband and I got to the word WORST and he cracks up..spewing coffee everywhere..I am not kidding, I am so afraid of getting into a wreck it isn't funny...How about you? Please tell me there is someone out there that is a worser back seat driver than me..He just laughs at me...HA HA..HO HO..He is a really good driver..I am scared no matter who is driving...

I am a horrible back seat driver, just toward my husband though!! Poor guy! I am constantly telling him to slow down, or get over the the other lane, etc. I also am horrible at grabbing the car door when his driving freaks me out a little bit, or I gasp really loudly, which in turn scares him. Usually when we go somewhere, I just end up doing the driving.

I have been to California and it is crazy..I was born in Barstow. Did you grow up there or are you just stationed there with the military? My dad was a Marine for 30 years. My first husband was in the Air Force, but he passed away.

The one time I had a back seat driver like that, well this person did not even drive. My response was "Either shut up or it would be their fault if I got into an accident." When they tried again, I just slammed on the brakes, & got hit in the back. Of course, I blamed them for that. Luckily, there was no damage to my car (it was a 1984 Oldsmibile Delta-98 - nicknamed a 'poor man's Cadillac' so it was a heavily-built car.)

My husband is not the greatest driver in the world. He will be looking around and head off the road! I have to tell him in a quiet voice to look out or he will freak, grab the wheel and jerk us into the other lane!

being a backseat driver can be really dangerous sometimes. i had an instance where i was dropping my nan at the train station and i was driving round to drop her off and some person stepped out in front of me. my nan screamed and scared me which made me panic. at the same time she grabbed the gearstick (i drive a manual) and pulled it in all directions. i was so angry because she caused such a problem over something so small. i didnt even come close to hitting the guy. im a good driver and dont need anyone telling me otherwise.

I don't say anything unless I absolutely need too..I just sit quietly until I feel something needs my attention..It can be dangerous for someone to be screaming and such..I am not like that at all...I don't want to cause a wreck I am just helping prevent one..you are very right..I guess maybe I am not the worst back seat driver, afterall...

When my husband and I are together in the car, I ALWAYS drive because his driving makes me nauseous. Unless we are on a trip then he drives and I sleep so I don't get sick. Just him, not anyone else. He also likes to get right up on someone's tail before he passes them, gets me nervous.

There was a day when I had to prevent a car accident by being a backseat driver. I'm not usually a backseat driver, but that day I had to be. He was driving on the wrong side of the road!! To this day if we are driving in the left-hand lane and there is no traffic directly to our left, I look over to make sure that it's a one way street, or that there is traffic running parallel in the other direction on the other side of a lawn or partition of any other kind.

OMG! You sound just like me. I do all the things you do while my hubby is driving, PLUS I try to put on the brakes for him too. Especially when he's right on the bumper of the car in front of us. I'm surprised I haven't put my foot through the floor boards yet. He always asks me if my set of brakes are working, and then laughs his butt off. But at least I haven't done like his first wife. For whatever reason, she had her feet up on the dashboard, of all places. When someone cut in front of them, she pushed so hard against the windshield with her feet that it shattered outward! But I'm still better at giving him driving orders. LOL
