Actually that's a very important subject how the handicapped see himself and how the community feel for him!! Do you think we should treat him with a special care that would hurt his feelings sometimes or just normalize things How he accepts his disability and not to be ashamed of?? what the role of the community?

I'm sure I would learn to deal with it, the lord works in mysterious ways and would have a good reason if he were to disable me, I think that he uses handicapable people to the people a lesson in acceptance, which is a vauable lesson indeed.

I do have a disability. It's cerebral palsy; I'm not ashamed. I view disability as a separate subculture like being black, being a woman, or being LGBT. My role in the community is an active one because I decided that it should be. I don't want to be treated specially just because I'm disabled but I do exspect to be accomodated on my disability issues, but that's different.

I have a problem with my eyes (my vision is not 50/50) last time I checked it was 25/75 now I know it has gone down so it would probably not be 100. if my left eye goes any more down I am sure I could be clasifaid as legaly blind on 1 eye. Do I feel ashamed yes and no. As I cant drive people make me feel ashamed as I am not independant or cant drive my son to school, friends always go out for coffee and never invite me as they cand come pick me up. I get lots of comments. I dont want people to step on egg shels about it but I dont need people to point it out all the time. So if such a minor thing (and plut it is not visable so unless I tell someone they wont know) than how do people react to someone that has a visible hendicap.
