When a good-looking stranger asks for your number, will you give it?

Earlier, I was riding in a jeepney (vehicles common in the Philippines) to school. When the jeepney stopped in a nearby “loading and unloading zone”, I turned and watched a man climb up the jeepney and then sat beside me. He had this super friendly look and smiling face when he looked at me that I caught myself by surprise – he was dead good-looking! I turned away and distract myself by watching the passing cars on the road. Then to my astonishment, the good-looking stranger tapped me on the shoulder; so, I turned to look at him. Then he asked for my number… I was stunned (I guess I’m not that cool – I’ve always been so nervous around good-looking men. Haha! ). But I simply smiled and told him that I just lost my cellphone; so, he nodded and said okay. Fortunately, the jeepney had already stopped at another “loading and unloading zone” so I immediately got down and fled. I kept on hammering my head that made the right decision about lying to that man that I don’t have a cellphone. I guessed I just could not make myself give my number to strangers whether they’re good-looking or not because I wanted to play safe. Too playing safe? Aaarrgghh.. I don’t want to think that I had wasted an opportunity back there! So he’s good-looking, big deal, right? *sigh…*

I would have done the same, regardless how cute he is. I mean, a man with that 'look' could have been collecting a lot of women's cellphone numbers by then. The fact that he wasn't nervous asking for your number gives you that sense that he's the 'player' type. You don't know, but maybe he and his friends have a scheme on collecting the most number of cellphone numbers. *LOL* I seem to be sour-graping ey? hahaha.. But really, if he's really serious on getting your number, then he'd do the same every time and look for you. Don't worry, I wouldn't have given out my number too.

He could certainly launch a thousand ships.

i never give my personal telephone number to a stranger... You can never know who the person is at the first site.. And i do not want it for my telephone to ring 24/7 because I gave my number to some psycho.

You did the right thing. Givin your number to a stranger is not a good idea at all. You really need to play safe. We really dont know the motive behind taking our number. They can harass us on phone, track our house and come there. They can do lots of things with our number. So, howsoever the smart is the guy, i never give my number to him.

I might give it to them. But only if they call me Cornel or Sir. I will tell them that I believe I deserve to be called Cornel or Sir because I have earned it!
