Hi there. I use to have alot of nightmares when I was younger, I use to wake up during the night to find myself crying and breathing so fast, I would wake my sister up and tell her about my dream, then I could easily go back to sleep, but if I didnt anyone to tell my nightmare to during waking in the night, then I couldnt stop thinking about it, and found it very hard to go back to sleep, then I would make myself scared and get under the covers and stay there and finally tier myself out and go to sleep... I hated having nightmares, especially about my family and danger... Now Im older, I dont have these nightmares and if I did, I could better handle them. I dont know why we have nightmares... Maybe our minds are over active...

Hi Nardz!I guess telling someone about your nightmare
does help. You know sharing it with another person helps to weaken the experience within yourself and
washes it away.I am glad that you no longer have these nightmares, they are very unpleasant and depressing.lol.

I have no idea what the cause of nightmares is. I have them all the time. I have been haveing them my whole life. I even went to the doctor many times trying to find a medication totake them away but there is no such pill in reality. When I was just a small child I used to have a reoccuring nightmare about a possessed lawn mower trying to kill my family.

I had one at age 10 where I was running through this
really long hot house complete with the usual plants
inside.I was trying to get away from this huge figure
of a man who was wearing a pair of superhero type of
shorts( Ha Ha Ha!!!!)He kept on coming and I was getting nowhere fast as my feet would'nt move.Upon
awakening I found that I was actually trying to run in my bed,I heaved a sigh of relief on discovering that it was only a bad dream. This part you may not
believe though,I saw this guy again years later while awake. It was Benjamin J.Grimm, you know that
comic book character "The Thing" from Marvel Comics
"The Fantastic Four" now also in the movies?I swear
that when I had this nightmare I had never seen or
heard of this character and only became familiar with these sort of comics in my late teens."nuff said" as they say at Marvel.LOL!!!!!!

I also have Nightmares from time to time. If I got too tired or saw something terrible happened, then I always have nightmares in the night. The terrible thing often came into my dream/
