How do you respond to nasty criticisms from myLot respondents?

I must have posted some discussions that provoked indignation from the readers because they started posting criticisms because they do not agree with what I have posted. While some comments annoyed me, some actually made me feel hurt because the respondents can sometimes be tactless and inconsiderate with their choice of words to throw at me. Of course, because most of the respondents were older than me (their pictures gave it away), I did not dare to have a go with them. I just thank them for posting honest responses to my posted discussions. Anyway, they have the very right to post whatever they want to post, right? Perhaps, I’m just too sensitive.
What about you? Do you argue further or strike back when someone criticizes your discussions? Or do you just thank them for posting comments for what you posted?

If somebody is rude or nasty then i bring it to their attention that they were rude.Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but they do not have to go about it being rude.Everybody deserves respect and to be treated equally.I normally rate every one (+) but if its rude and disrespectful/being offensive then they get a (-)

you have a point. hmmm.. i guess all of us deserve to be respected. i just wish if ever people want to criticize my discussions, they'd be a bit more gentle rather than rash.. unless i'd have to practice on not being too sensitive, right?
thanks for responding. :)

Well, this could be known as 'flaming'.
There are three ways to deal with it:
1: Ignore it and grow a thick skin.
2: Complain to the administrators (which may not work here, because I don't see a very heavy admin presence here)
3: Flame back.

wow.. i wish i had the nerve. i just don't want to disrespect older people. i mean, i want to defend myself and all. but i don't want to offend them by striking back. they may be right about what they criticize about my discussions. sometimes they hurt, but what can i do about it, right? it's their opinions...

well i think there are a lot of people on mylot who have mental problems. The way their mental problems express themselves is through being horible to people on here. Rather than being upset with their actions and words, I would really pitty their mental state, they must have very sad lives indeed
blessed be
