If you don't take the charges into account, there's no doubt that Broadband is far far better than GPRS. In fact, there's no comparison between GPRS and broadband. While GPRS gives real poor data exchange rate (a maximum of around 64kbps downlaod speed and a maximum of around 46kbps of upload speed) which cannot be compared to that of Broadband speed which we are getting around 4mbps by BSNL. Even airtel is introducing broadband with a speed of 8mbps. The only thing to consider is charges for the service. While I pay Rs 350 per month for Unlimited AirTel GPRS usage, I'll have to pay around Rs 500 for Unlimited BSNL 2mbps broadband. Other thing is the setup. GPRS can be accesed easily using a cell phone as a modem, but we need extra hardware for broadband usage.
