Who else is having a heck of a time with these referrals?

There are so many sites that give people referral commissions. It seems impossible to make cash from these sites unless you have plenty of referrals to back you up. For example, my Adbuddy account has been active for a few weeks and I don't even have a dollar yet. With two referrals clicking about half of what I have would have netted me nearly two bucks. That isn't much, but its a heck of a lot more than what I have now. Everyone I talk to about this stuff says its dumb and a big waste of time (which I agree, until you have tons of active referrals) but because of this no one signs up. I have made a myspace page that has been posted a few times on here and no activity really. The myspace page isn't finished though.... Is anyone else having these difficulties? How do you convince your referrals to sign up?

If you really want to get referrals to sites, the best way it to just ask a whole load of people you know to sign up and participate for a few days. You must know a whole load of people (school or work) and then way more from online. If you join an online game and ask people there to join up, it could work quite well. I'll help you if I can.

Wow, I think that was the quickest response ever. I have talked to a good dozen or so of my buddies and all of them basically said no, its stupid. My coworkers have basically said the same thing. It seems that unless I recruit form the internet there are going to be very few referrals. Are there any sites you are interested in? If I am a member I could give a quick review or something if you like.

I am also having these difficulties. I am signed up for MyLot and Hits4Pay and both sites are very slow earners without referrals (but MyLot is a bit better because effort gets recognized). It is very hard to find referrals for these sites and most people won't join unless they will make a lot of money so it can sometimes be very hard. I try to post referral links in my own blogs or try to find some friends who might be interested, but I feel bad referring friends because I am not sure if any of these sites actually pay.
