I have a terrible memory and always have, this is one reason I never did well at school I jus couldn't remember what I was reading, but when I was working I had to do a pretty hard six week course and I thought I am not going to get through this, someone told me to have a drink of a special tea made from some root of a plant and I can't remember it for the life of me..see no memory, any way every morning before class I would have a drink of this tea well I don't know if it was the tea or not but I came top of the class, the first time ever for me. maybe someone here knows what this plant would have been....

I think it may have been licorice root or something like that, I bought it at the Healthfood shop on a paket exactly like you buy normal tea. I just looked up on the net for you this says a little about it.. but it really did work for me, I was amazed it was the first time I ever did well in a test... http://www.sssbiotic.com/product/herbal-tea3.asp

Trivial things I tend to forget very quickly and when my family try to make me remember, I must admit I do get abit worried that I have forgotten. However, I have just done a degree and all the new information I learnt has stayed with me. Also as I work with children I have a good memory for their names, can't say the same about their parents names though. I think the thing that keeps the memory going is when we have the oppotunity to talk about past events over and over again, then it stays fixed in our minds. Sadly for me I have lost contact with school friends so i don't have the chance to chat over such events, so they are easily erased from my memory. Whats good now is phones with cameras, we can catch each memorable moment and this will then stay more vivid. I think reading and keeping the brain active is a start and not vegetating by watching too much TV!! Mylot is also good when I go on discussions that make me think, like this one my friend!!

I have always had a poor memory in some areas, especially names and faces. I am not good at remembering details, probably because I don't really observe details to begin with. My memory was always pretty good at trivial facts and in organization of material. As I am getting older, however, it is getting worse. I have trouble remembering names of relatives, sometimes! And I am always forgetting where I put my keys or glasses! Sometimes I walk into another room and can't remember what I went in there for! Very annoying!

I have faith in my memory. See my big head? I have a head bigger than many, so I can cramp more things in it. lol. Hopefully my memory don't fail me even when I am 50 years down the road. Personally, I find it tedious to employ association techiques. Perhaps it works for you?

I realized it recently that I often forget things that just happened. For example, I watched a TV programme and then changed it to another channel, but I couldn't remember what programme I had just watching...I struggled thinking, thinking, and finally got it. It's so terrible! I am only 21 years old! But it's strange that I seem not likely to forget the things that happened long time ago. I can well remember many trifles many years ago. My memory is...really...strange...

I've got a fairly good long term memory (not much on the detail though)...but short term...ah. A bit on the poor side at times. Sometimes when I go to a room (ex. kitchen), I immediately forget why I went there. I squeeze my eyes shut for a while & try to remember why I went. Anyway, I read somewhere that taking vitamin B helps improve the memory. I don't know if it really works. Also, exercising the mind, such as answering crosswords, number puzzles and the like might also help. Good luck!

Hello mymytri. I can say that I still have a perfectly good memory. I can easily remember birthdays and know where all my things are. I only notice that I tend to lose my concentration whenever I lack sleep. I tried to fortify it with a power nap in the afternoon and my brain will be back to its normal self.

I have terrible short term memory. I can't remember names, faces, numbers or anything anymore. The weird thing is that I will just be minding my own business when out of nowhere, an old memory just pops in my head. Sometimes, it is an event that happened in my past and a couple of times it was some of the lyrics to a song that I didn't even like! I wish that I could delete some of the memories that I don't want and make room for more memories in the future. I have seen my mother-in-law suffer from Alzheimer's. Believe me, it is a disease that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

Dear Mymytri, Once upon a time I had a good memory. After I become a diabetic patient at the age of 35 then my memory started failing. Now a day I do not remember a thing where I kept 5 minutes before. I have to put into mind what are the things I did for the last 10 minutes. Then I remember where I kept my things. Of course, as far as official matters are concerned, I do not know how I remember everything. I am an accountant. I can remember the figures about the balance sheet as to which account head carry what figures. As far as my personal matters are concerned I am unable to remember. I do not know why.

Dear mymytrie Even I feel so many times like this -- that -- How did I forget this .. You know somethings that we really can't understand and we curse ourself to forget all these things .. Sometimes I think like I have a good memory .. but when I forget something then I disagree with this view point. I cannot compare my memory with Good, Bad or Worse .. because sometimes -- it becomes good, sometimes bad and sometimes worse .. so I won't be able to comment on that .. because it keeps on changing like our star number and post count .. lolz .. Ok I don't have a great technique to share about improving memory power .. just a little bit of information : The concentration! When you are working, learning, doing something....dont think anything else. Thats the mistake normally we do!! This will help great......brain will work only to store yur datas not else.

I have a bad memory, so does my husband. We forget things and lost stuff. In fact , I hear that some jobs lead to worse memories, for example, teaching. Unfortunately, I'm a teacher. They say because there're so many little things to do in everyday life that people begin to write them down in a note and they begin to rely more and more on notes instead of their own memories.hope it's not true.

hello mymytri :-) i think i have a very good memory. at school, my favorite subject is history. i am good at memorizing dates and events. i always get the highest score in history exams. as a matter of fact, history is my major in college. i also find it amazing that i can memorize the celphone numbers of people closae to me. like i can recall the number of my mother and my close friends even without jotting it down.

i am a forgetful person.. they say if you are hungry, you tend to forget things, so what i did is, i eat regularly... i don't know if it has something to do with food nutrients nurturing the brain but i guess it works also... i write some stuffs on my notebook just in case my forgetfulness will start again.. :D
