Disease from misquitios

Okay everyone what is the disease that we get from misquito bites? I cant for the life of me think of it. And lyme disease is what we get from ticks right? I hate when I know something but cant remember it. And its driving me nuts.LOL Not that Im already nuts.hahahahah So please whats the answer?

Dengue Fever maybe? My Uncle got dengue fever and was rushed to hawaii for treatment (we were in Samoa at the time). It was pretty serious and he did pull through it!

The disease you get from mosquitos is called west nile virus. I think you can get malaria to but its rare. And yes, the deer tick causes lyme disease.

I think malaria is the most common disease caused by mosquito bites.
Dengue is also caused by the mosquito bites. But its very rare espescially in my country, i dont know about other countries.

Maleria, Faileria, dengu, west nile virus and so many and it depends o the geographical location where the mosquitos from and what kind of mosquitos are they. Some friend here gave a website what i want to check right away that would be great for us...

I think it is malaria..don't you hate it when you can't remember something..like it is on the tip of my tongue but I just can't spit it out..

Are you thinking of the West Nile Virus? It's really bad if you get it. My mother in law had it a couple of years ago and it took her about a year or more to totally get over it!
Yes, lyme disease is from ticks...ewww!

I think that malaria is the disease that most people think of, but the modern West Nile Virus is a pretty scary disease said to be transmitted through the mosquito.
Here's a site I was prompted to look up just because of the topic in this thread...it's kind of spooky - there are a LOT of sicknesses that mosquitoes can spread. Here's the site:

West Niles virus....That's why the big hoopla to make sure there aren't any puddles of water that remain too long, creating a breeding ground for mosquitoes
