Sashimi

What is the secret of a good sashimi? Does the cook blanche it on something?
I tried doing sashimi but it does not taste similar. How do the japanese cook does it?
Any thoughts?

I love Japanese food. Sushis and sashimi... I'm not a good cook... wait a minute, I don't cook! I only eat. Check this site out. I looked it up for you. Hope this improves your sashimi preparation skills.
