Does eating Chinese Food give you explosive diahrrea?

I love Chinese food so very much. But lately it seems I have to run to the bathroom shortly afterwards, and this is such a bummer. Do you have this problem? Do you think it is the soy sauce, or some other reason? I don't think I could ever give up my Chinese food, so I may just have to grin and bear it.

I think the reason this happens is the MSG they put in the food. Chinese is pretty much the only kind I've eaten where this happens and is one of the only ones I know that uses MSG in it. I get to enjoy and savor the food for MAYBE an hour (sometimes less), 90 minutes tops before it kicks in and I have to make a run for it before I have the runs. Sometimes I don't even make it out of the restaurant before it hits. :(

It does not give me diahrrea. I never heard of the explosive kind. Diahrrea is diahrrea. It could be all the vegetables in it. If you don't eat many vegetables and salad stuff, and then suddenly order Chinese food which contains quite a few, then you will have problems. What you have to do is to introduce more vegetables, fruit, and whole grains into your everyday diet. Then your body can tolerate Chinese food.

I can honestly say that I've never had that problem. But it could be a reaction to something in the food. Possibly soy sauce, not everything has soy sauce in it, tho. Unless you're putting it on yourself -- if you do, try skipping it next time, see if that helps.
