The last time I logged on I posted two photos with a couple of the discussions I started and only got credit for one. And today when I logged on I responded to someone's response to a discussion I had started and my rating dropped by 1. If they want to encourge discussions why would they do that?

Maybe they want to encourage certain types of discussions, such as discussions that aren't your own. They may want to have more detail. I'm not totally sure. It hasn't happened to me.

The star ratings have to do with your popularity within the community - whether people give you "best marks" or + to your responses and discussions. It has nothing to do with how much activity you did or photos you downloaded. It is about how your fellow members have rated your discussions. I dropped from a 98/100 to a 97/100 yesterday and couldn't figure out why. So I got active yesterday and started some new discussions, rated others responses, and responded to discussions. My rating is back up to 98/100. I am baffled at those with 99 and 100 because I can't seem to get myself there. LOL!
