Any Honest Work At Home Jobs?

Canada
July 15, 2007 8:06pm CST
No I don't want to spend a year building my own little empire. I'm talking about a real job, where I spend 8 hours a day, working in my home office for someone else. Where I can receive an actual pay cheque at the end of the month for $8.00/hr (more or less). Is this really too much to ask? The internet appears to be filled with "get-rich-schemes",scams,MLM, affiliate programs and a hundred different ways to take the money out of your pockets .... but what about those people who are willing to work hard, are reliable and just want to make a steady income? I would be interested in hearing about any legitimate agencies for home based workers, preferably ones who include us Canadian folk.

I know what you mean, these things are hard to find. The best things I can think of are selling things on Ebay, or doing freelance work. I think there are also some customer service type jobs out there where you can answer phones and such from your home, but this is something I heard, have not read. I wish you luck!

Hi unclestan I may have found what you are looking for. I joined www.sohojobs.org quite sometime ago and the companies that post jobs there are hiring for exactly what it is you are looking for; pay check, work 8 hours, work from your home office, some even offer benefits. I think you may be pleased with the job postings on this site. I work for 2 companies now, that I applied to from sohojobs.org website, and I get paid between $800 - $1000 a month :o) Let me know what you find and what you choose to do! Best to you ~ (id:au8tkat) "Working from home thanks to www.sohojobs.org"

Hi Terese, thanks for the lead. I am currently working at home as an independent on-line job agent for a Canadian company. I find the work is interesting (matching up job seekers with employers,etc.). There is a one time fee of $24.00 to join, but this includes: e-mail,tracking, instructions etc. and is intended to screen out those people not serious about working. I have a link on my web site http://www.adachi.ca I am curious....do you personally have any prior skills or work experience ...which might make you a more appealing candidate to online employers? Also, approximately how long did it take you from signing up to sohojobs to actually being hired to your first job? Thanks again, I will keep you in mind.

Hi unclestan You are so welcome. I enjoy helping others on their qwest to work from home and have success doing it! I will visit the website you shared with me. Is it for Canandian residents only?? The companies that post job openings on sohojobs.org will list the qualifications and requirements. They all offer training. I apply to the ones that I know will hold my interest and also the ones that pay well :o) I have 24 years of customer service skills; with the public as well as over the phone. I also have my own Nutrition Company with Herbalife International, and have successfully been with them for almost 7 years now :o) I merged my nutrition company with my Fitness Center when I purchased that almost 3 years ago. So, I do have some other skills as well. My adice, lead with your heart. If you can see yourself doing something and it becomes your hearts desire, go for it! Don't worry if you are skillfull or not! Everyone can be trained!! Keep me posted on your successes ~ Teri K (id:au8tkat) "Working from home thanks to sohojobs.org"

I've worked for several companies who hire workers from home. You do NOT pay them to be considered or to work "for" them. I earned between $8-$12 per hour. You can find several work at home companies free here on one of my websites: http://www.designinglife.net/Your_Tool_Box.html

Thanks for directing me to your website...very impressive and informative. Definitely a must see! Just before receiving your post,I had already signed up as a Job Agent (connecting job seekers with employers). This is entirely on-line internet work..working at home and totally commission based. I personally enjoy the challenges and the variety of duties needed to be performed and I think they offer a great service. However, I think you have to be a self-motivated and persistent type of individual to succeed in this type of work. Hello, I sympathize with you..there are a lot of b.s. scams out there. Since you are interested in LEGIT work at home, I would check out telecommuting opportunities. If you don't mind sorting through a bunch of stuff then Monster, Yahoo, etc. all have some listed....what I use though is flexjobs.com (I'm NOT an affiliate who will earn $ off of you--I really have used them) because their listings are categorized. It doesn't matter where you live! They used to be free but cost $15/month now but I think it's worth it because you don't have to spend so much time finding what you're looking for. A big time saver. But if you don't have a lot of $ here's a trick I use: type in part of the job description in a search engine and often it will pop up on a free job site. I don't know what your skill sets are, but writers, marketers, graphic designers, home call center workers etc. are a few of the types of jobs you can apply for. Also VA (virtual assistant) work. Another site is tjobs.com Best of luck to you and I hope this helps!

Hi YouTubed, Thanks for your useful leads and info. I've just completed a year...working on-line as a job agent (commission). I will take a closer look at your suggestions as I would like to find some other means to supplement my income...between commission payments.

I wish I could do this too. I basically need all the money I can possibly get and I'm tired of those get rich quick schemes that don't actually even work.

it is really too much to ask. there is very little like that out there and if you find something like that, it will take a TON of research. even writing on the net is not what it used to be. i used to make good money writing for different websites, now, the net is saturated with writers and the pay is very little.
