During rainy season, I have this extra task of defrosting my ref. It builds ice very fast. I have no room to store. The thermostat is no good. Its pretty hard for those ice to melt . Guys if you have ideas on how to melt the ice faster, give me a buzz.

Of course, if you are careful you can use a hand-held hair dryer to melt the ice, but a better idea is to coat your freezer shelves with mineral oil, and then when it freezes up, you don't have to melt the ice, it will slide right out as the oil prevents the ice from sticking. In an emergency you c\an use cooking oil, but mineral oil is nicer. I put a nice scent in mine.
Of course this doesn't help once the freezer is already frosted up, but if you think ahead, then it will be easy to clean out the next time.
