Chocolate gravy for breakfast?

When I was a kid my mom used to make this chocolate gravy, she'd pour it on top of bread and serve it for breakfast whenever we had a big test at school to keep us up and running with all the sugar. I hadn't had it in a long time so I decided now that I'm on my own I would try to make this chocolate gravy.I looked it up and had no idea it was originally served on biscuits and is an old-time country breakfast food.Who knew!It came out perfectly so I thought I would share the recipe that my mother gave me with all of you and ask if any of you have every tried it? Chocolate Gravy 1/3 cup granulated sugar 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder (I prefer Hersheys) 1 Tbsp. & 1 tsp. all purpose flour ( I didnt have any I substituted with bisquick pancake mix and it was fine) 1 pinch of salt 1 cup & 2 Tbsp. milk 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter Melt butter in medium sized pot on medium-high heat.Mix cocoa powder,salt,sugar,flour.Place it into the pot on.Add milk slowly while whisking into cocoa mixture.Cook and stir gravy until it comes to a boil scraping te bottom and sides occasionally (Keep a steady eye on gravy).When the gravy boils reduce heat so a low boil is maintained. Boil until desired consistency (typically about 4 minutes) pour over biscuits or bread.Blow on your first bite and ENJOY!
