I really do not believe in the quality of water that is supplied at our home through the taps and hence have installed a water filter. Do you use some kind of water filter or drink the water straight from the tap?

I boil my water first and then I put it through the filter jug. I have done this since I lived in another house with really bad pipes and every time we drank the water we got really sick so we had to boil and filter it just to be able to drink it, and I guess after that it just became a habit as 2 years after moving on from that house we still do it. I dont ever drink water straight from the tap

The tap water in my area is tested regularly but I use filtered water to cook and drink but I will bathe in tap water. They warn us if they are flushing it or anything and sometimes you boil it first. I don't like bottled water cause I think it tastes like plastic.

I drink bottled water, but I swear Evian water DOES taste like plastic.

Actually, a filter woudn't really help the water from my tap. I live out in the country and I have very hard well water. The system I would need to make the water drinkable would cost me about $2000. Plus I would need to buy special things to go with it. So we either buy our water at the store or we find places that will let us fill up jugs of water. I won't even cook with the water from the tap but I will use it to wash dishes and take a shower.

try a filter for the shower. it's in line and will take out sediments and metals for you. a water softener would be nice to have but does require quite a lot of maintenance.

We have to use afilter, since our well water has a lot of sulphur and iron in the water. It smells and tastes awful without filtering, and leaves the iron and other mineral residue on the dishes.

We own a rainsoft water purification system. I really like it and the water is really wonderful. I have seen some that will put a fruit flavor in your water I think that is pretty neato!

I drink straight from the tap. I don't like the filtered water because the water tastes bland. It is said that filters are only needed at one point, but not on all types of water because it takes out the minerals our body need to be able to fight bacteria naturally. =)

NO we do not need to use anything. In HUngary the running water in the households is very good quality. No need to boil, or any other treatment. The quality is is checked continuously.

I took some of my tap water to Sears to find out how clean it was and they said it was good for consumption. It was nice and clean but I have a filter on my faucet because I don't like the smell of the fluoride. I quess I could drink it from the tap if I had too but not often.

we too have water purifier installed at home but i just prefer tap water!:)actually i m a bit harsh toward my body!lol i mean why give it a habit of drinking only pure or filtered water when sometimes it may need to drink bacteria laden water, like in some crisis? if it wouldn't be able to cope with such a situation then it would be fatal!! now you may call me paranoid if you like!:P

I have lived in quite a few cities in Los Angles County. The taste of the water depends on the city that you are living in. When I live in the city of Los Angeles, the water made me sick, so I would drink filtered water. Now that I live in Santa Monica, the tap water is pretty good, so I am able to drink it with no problem.

It is all depend upon the necessity of the drinking water. At our honme, we have a water filter. We used to collect the water from the filter and boil and use for drinking water. And some other occassions, without all these process also I used to drink the water. Moreover, if we are going outside, we will not get all these facilities. So I can drink any neat water without all these processes

i agree with you ranjeetkolarkar that the water we get in our homes are not at all pure mostly during the rainy season.they contain lots of microbes and harmful chemicals, even wastes from factories and industries.moreover they have a lot of bleaching content in them. so i boil it first and then put it in the filter.but sometimes i don't find much time to do this.so i have put up an aquaguard in my home.i think that gives me pure water.

Shortly after hearing and reading about how bad chlorine really is for your health, let alone some of the toxins that are still present in our tap water, I installed a water filter. I also buy bottled water for my personal use.

My wife boils the water first, waits till the time it becomes cold, puts it in a filter. From filter it is then bottled and kept in refrigerator. This process we have been following for more than 20 years and I particularly like to drink as much water as I can, because this water is free from any bacteria.

We definitely use a water filter. Although our tap water is very safe to drink, I don't like the taste of chlorine in it. I used to use rain water from my tank, but that is not very safe, as the run off from our roof could contain chemicals. Once one has bought a water purifier, the cost is free, as you just use the water from the tap to fill it up.

I live in Florida in the United States. We bought a water softener when we bought our house but I still can't stand the taste of the water! I use to use water filters and need to get of my behind and install one so that I can actually drink the stuff. They say you should drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water per day. Thank goodness for Crystal Light.

Frankly, I never trust the water filter. In fact the water without running can be very dirty in the tap. So I have never wanted to use a water filter. I prefer to boil it and then drink it. Water straight from the tap is cleaner than from the filter. I think many people won't believe it, but it's true.

I never drink straight from my tap coz its not safe at all. I do care about my whole family's health and also I have a small baby. I dont want he gets any kind of sickness from unhealthy water he drinks everyday.
