I went to Vancouver on Summer and it was the best time of my life. It rained just one day and it was warm. The city is great, the people is so nice. I loved the whole experience.

The best time is from May to September. It rains quite a lot during the spring and the fall. In winter, it gets about one degrees F in the winter, but usually it is downcast and drizzling. Usually around April, it starts to warm up, but the temperature is not that hot and there is a chance of frequent showers. It is quite mild as it is in the temperate northern rain forest zone. Sp around May would be good time.

I notice that as you posted this discussion about the climate in Vancouver you might have already been there. If so I hope that you had a really lovely and enjoyable time. I hope to there next year. My toddler will be two years old in mid to late May. I know a budget airline that goes to Canada from my local airport. On their website they have fares listed for Toronto next year but not Vancouver yet. I hope to be able to book my flight soon. I know that Vancouver would be warmest in July and August, pleasant in June and September and I hope reasonable in May. Spring might be the ideal time but I don't like cold weather so I wouldn't go in the winter. I don't come from a tropical country but I like that sort of climate very much.

Terrible? Hardly. Especially if you are going to British Columbia, which has the only desert in Canada. BCs climate is exceptionally mild and the only chance of hitting real winter weather is December-January. Spring in Vancouver is very wet, you will see a ton of rain. I would advise you go in the late spring, early summer. The flowers will be in full bloom, the weather should be quit warm/hot with spots of rain. Vancouver is a city geared to summer tourists as well, plenty of fairs, activities, displays and what not. But these generally don't get into gear until mid to late June. They run well into the fall, which is likely the second best time to visit. It is rare for it to get cold in Vancouver before December.

I went to Vancouver in Mid-July and it was wonderful. Every day the weather was around seventy-eight degrees (F). There was no rain for the whole week and a half that I was there. It is truly a beautiful city. Also, if you can, try going over to Vancouver Island, it is a very beautiful island, which is mostly beautiful forests and lakes and rivers. You can do all kinds of outdoor stuff there. You can either take a ferry to get there or take a small plane. Have Fun!
