The Christian Answer to E-mail Scams

If you spend any length of time on the internet or signing up for programs, you are bound to receive e-mail scams. I usually just delete them. However, after spending some time on various social sites I began to realize that some people really are duped by these. It is a sad situation because the people that get taken by these phishing scams are usually desparate for money and on the verge of financial ruin. I had my fill of these scammers when I received another e-mail this morning claiming to be a Nigerian company wanting to mail me an ATM card. I answered it with a quote from the book of Psalms. http://www.lifeasachristianwoman.com/christian-answer-to-e-mail-scams-and-phishing/. Perhaps it was a bit harsh. But God's word is clear on the punishment for those who prey on the poor and oppressed. Have you ever answered one of these e-mails? If so, what was the outcome?

I have thought of answering some of these, but then I read somewhere that when you respond, even if it is not the response they are hoping for, you are confirming that the e-mail address is an actual address and someone reads it. It then sets you up to receive even more of these types of e-mails.

i have plenty of spams in my emails. I also got a few emails saying i won in a lottery or in a raffle draw or that my email address is chosen to receive a million dollars, stuff like that. I think i have responded one time to this type of email. Am not sure what i exactly wrote... but i think i just wrote: "Oh really?! Come on!" I don't really respond to emails from unknown senders. I just ignore them. In fact i rarely read them now. I just hit the delete button if i see all these spams.

These days I soometimes send them to the spam@uce.gov web and then sometimes I forward them to each other just for the heck of it.

I just ignore them. By replying to them, you are showing that your address is legitimate and they will give it to other spammers. I also doubt that what you did will do any good, because these scum are beyond redemption anyway.

yes i have answered several just for the heck of it and wanted to know how far these people will go. there was a time for three days i was answering one particular email and believe me they really know the art of convincing and if one is gullible they will really fall for it. so finally i answered back when the other party started giving instructions how to send the money for the freight etc. told hime this is a scam and he should be ashamed of himself if he needed money maybe i could have given it to him only if he asked but not offeirng me this and that. after that it just stopped.
