My Boy Lost His Appetite / myLot

Its been a week now since my boy lost his appetite. He is 10 months old now. Actually he doesnt drink milk so good but since he started to eat porridge, I was relieved coz he was doing fine and he ate kinda lot. But last week I didnt know why he started to close his mouth tight every time he was fed. If he did eat, just a few and he would close his mouth again. I tried to give him evey kinda food, biscuit, soft rice, instant porridge, everything but they were useless. Some said that its kinda normal if babies dont want to eat coz they maybe bored of the food. But it also make me worry too. The thing i can do is only giving him vitamins to add his appetite and more milk although its hard too sometimes. And also feed him with porridge every day, even just a few.

He may be allergic to cows milk. He may also have swallowed something that makes it painful for him to eat. I had a friend who went through that as a baby. She stopped eating and cried whenever fed. Turns out she had swallowed a small safety pin that was lodged in her throat. If your son starts loosing weight it may be time to take him to a doctor. Good Luck!

It's not a matter of being allergic to cows milk because you aren't supposed to give children cow's milk (on it's own) before the age of 12 months. There is bacteria in there that can make them very sick as their tummies cant digest it propetly. I would recommend taking him to a Dr if he wont eat but don't go giving him cow's milk just yet because it will only make him sick.

Thanks for your both suggestions. I am not quite sure what wrong with him, but he never cried when I fed him. He just didnt want to open his mouth, but when the food went into his mouth, he would just swallow it. And I asumsed that maybe he was just bored eating porridge every day. But he is back to normal again. I have given him vitamin too to increase his appetite. And I got the good result of that. Now I can be releif... :D
