The Panic Attack.... how do you react?

On my wedding day, minor things went wrong here and there, but nothing major. Regardless of how big or small the problem, many brides would FREAK OUT instantly. I however, was very calm. This is because I learned throughout reading many psychology books that we actually cause our own stress by reacting badly to situations. I see people around me in my everyday life who FREAK OUT, PANIC, and STRESS the instant something happens that they think might be bad. A lot of the time, they aren't even sure if it is bad, but they are in panic mode b/c of what they think is going to happen. I try to tell these people to calm down, that you have to get all the facts first before you freak out. If it is in fact something bad, then being calm will help you deal with it. For example, when arriving at the church for my wedding, the Bridal room was locked! and the flowers were locked in another room! I had a slight panic b/c I wanted to get hidden away before any guests arrived. However I didn't really panic too much b/c I told myself it would all be ok. It was frustrating, but it wasn't worth having a Panic Attack. Some people are so busy stressing out about a situation that they cannot actually concentrate and solve the problem. A lot of times, they are stressed because of the things they imagine going wrong! So, how can you calm these people down? I try to tell them to relax, and think of what can be done to verify or fix the problem, but a lot of times people don't respond (especially when others are telling them they should panic!). How do you deal?
