Scottish Terrier Temperament Question

Sophie, my adorable Scottish Terrier - I love my Sophie so much that I'm thinking about getting a second Scottie. However, the breeders I've visited near me have nippy, kind of nasty dogs. Am I just lucky that my little girl is so wonderful with the kids or do these breeders have a bad line? I know Scotties tend to be a bit grumpy and self sufficient, but these dogs are just plain mean and the puppies seem really aggressive.

Are your Scotties good with kids? Mine is, but the ones I've seen at the breeders near me are nasty and nippy and I really was hoping to get a second Scottish Terrier as neat as she is.
