is it possible to know password by email

one of my friend told me that she can read my a mail without my knowledge. she can also know to whom i m taking how it is possible .first i cant believe it but she told me some of conversation last time i did with my another friend while chating i m shock .she told me she got a soft ware which shows alphabets of password .is that true .if yes then how can we protect by this.

If you are on an unsecured wireless network, then it is extremely possible for your friend to read your emails, see what your searching for, know your passwords, what websites you visit if they know what they are doing.
If it's a secured wireless network using WPA or WPA2, I believe it is near impossible.
That is why when I am at an unsecured free wireless network area, I won't really access my very important accounts.

Not unless she is using your computer where your password may be stored as a temp file, so if you are using a public computer it is best to delete all temp files and cookies.
