More success more relatives...agree or disagree?

It is said that People only salute and give regards to 'rising sun'. So, naturally, if I am a successful person, I will be encircled by many of my relatives, they would like to remain in touch with me, because I may be of help to him, due to my position in society or my profession. If I am down in dumps, relatives will igonore me, by using different excuses and ideas. I agree with your discussion. Good post!

Yeah, that's part of life. I think it's because people would always want to be related with someone 'successful'. Success is a magnet for those who are opportunists, plus they know they'd get something from you including the good life. On the other hand, people who are down may give you negative impact so they tend to stay away. This is why they say that you'll find your 'real' friends and relatives when you are down. "Never make decisions when you are angry, neither should you make promises when you are happy". Here's a joke funny joke on being single: The British had an organization that Americans are now considering adopting. It seems that in England, they had a men's club, Bachelors' Anonymous. It was highly successful in making men fear or even hate marriage. The club provided a unique way to treat the problem of bachelors wanting to marry. yes you said it right girl. those are relatives who pops out like a mushroom,they all want your money and will suck everything that can take on you. and will disappear if you have nothing to give.

hmmm... in observation at our family, if you are not successful, you are always judged by your relatives. but i don't think not to the point of disowning. i guess it was just a judgement, but it you get to hear things that are really exaggerating and i think its too much.... there are some cases that the more you have money or popular you are, the more you get friends with you. it's really tough living coz you can never please a lot of people and you can never stop other people for judging you.

yup maybe for those people who are not real to you.. but its untrue for those who genuine for they are the who will be there for you through your ups and down.. maybe its also true for its already part of our culture.. its like the saying " no money no honey" or "no money no friends"

yes, "the more successful you have, the more lonely you get", do you agree. When you are successful, you rarely have a believable friend. If you can have one, that is you luck, you should take care of that friendship.

I don’t see people disowning you if you don’t have a lot of money or success. But I do agree if you come into a lot of money- all of a sudden you have a lot of relatives that you never met before- they come out of the woodwork then- : ( If I ever win the lottery- I’m going to keep it quiet- although I’m pretty good at saying no to people!

Yes I agree with you specially when they knew that you won a lottery hehehe. All relatives that are not really knew you before now they will achnowledge there selves as your relatives.
