I recently moved in with a friend and there is poison oak growing everywhere. My dog goes out and chases the deer off the property and then returns to me with the oil on his fur. I broke out with a rash on my wrist and my ankles. As this rash is drying up I discover little blisters popping up in spots that never came in contact with the oil. So, can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I can do to dry these blisters up so they will go away? Even my dog feels ostracised. Somebody help me!!!

Those spots probably came in contact with clothing that touched your blisters. That's all it takes. Just start afresh with the treatment, and be really careful while taking off your clothes and getting dressed, and make sure you wash them in hot water with enough detergent. This should kill anything left on the clothes.

Thank you for that great advise! I am trying all the great products on the market. Just as I thought I had this licked, it started spreading and now I think it has something to do with the guy who is clearing this weed off the property. He is not affected by it and then he puts his clothes into the washer and we only use cold water here. He is gone this week so I am going to use hot water on my outer clothes. I think I will see if there is anything I can add to the detergent to stop this problem from snowballing. I know that when winter comes the problem goes away. I don't want to wait that long.
