I would like to retire at in the year when I am 55. I have many ideas of what I might like to do when I reach that age. I lover to travel so hopefully I will continue exploring different locations around the world. I would like to have my dream house built somewhere tropical. It would be great to buy a camper van and set off exploring in that. I have two children and so wouldn't want to retire until they reach 18 and have settled lives. One will reach 18 in 2013 and the other in 2025 so I have a long time to wait.

That's very adventurous of you maximax8, a camper van for exploring :) as for your kids, well they'll grow up and definitely reach that age so you take care of them well ok. And someday, i might visit you on your house built somewhere in the tropics (lol) :)

My ideal retirement age would be 40 years old. But obviously that's not an option. Realistically I'd want to retire around 55 or 60. I plan to save my own money for retirement since social security in our Government is running out, it's just not reliable anymore. I definitely plan to travel around the world, specifically, all of Europe, parts of Australia and some of Asia.

Wacheytiger if you start saving now, you'll have lots of money when you reach your target retirement age. As for the government, their still might be some money in their vault, so don't worry :)

Really I have no idea when im going to retire and does anyone here know when there going to retire you can retire any where after 40 I know my mom retired in her middle 40s but she never planned on retiring because she wanted to work for a long time but had to because she was affraid the company would let her go. Me I would like to retire right now lol if I had the choice but I probally wont reitre till im around 50 or higher

My ideal age to get retired is 55. But I don't think that I can retire that young. I will still have to work until I am 60 when I have enough for my family and start to enjoy my pension.

At the age of 55 I will retire my work then if I have enough money then I will travel not only in europe but to the whole world. and of course playing any sports that I want and love to play. Enjoy travelling and riding. Good luck.
