This was another beach day for us.
Roatan is different from Grand Cayman because it is less developed. Carnival Cruise line has made some deal with their government. They have invested a lot of money there to develop their port.
The nice thing about undeveloped countries or cities is that they are more pristine. They don't have hotels all over the place yet. The nature is more intact.
We were again, taken to a resort on a bus. This bus was a little bigger and they had to take us through the mountains to the other side.
For those who have never driven in the mountains, it is quite an experience! It can put your nerves on edge. I have become more accustomed to this experience over the years, but I remember I was terrified the first few times I experienced this.
Some of the other people seemed to be a bit nervous.
I didn't to any scuba diving on this beach, though I should have. There were more reefs on that beach.
I just couldn't muster up the energy or the courage, I'm not sure which.
It must not have been energy because I did end up doing some Kayaking. That was intersting.
I tried with my 11 year old son. It was somewhat disastrous, but fun nonetheless! lol
He is approaching puberty and it seems he wants to be in charge. We continuously argued about which way to row etc. After a while we came back to shore. I was a little grouchy, but I'm still glad we did it.

They have one, two or three day cruises as well. It might be easier on the budget, but if you don't live near a port, it might not be worth the airfare to get to the city you'd be leaving from, to do the shorter cruise. Good luck saving up and thanks for your response! :-)

That sounds really nice, I love the under developed areas a lot better. Maybe you should go back there sometime and enjoy it more sounds like it was a lot of fun.
