I just recently made this decision as the manager at the store I am in has asked us to provide her with a schedule for the next 6 months and I am not willing to do that as I don't know what may come up as my husband works out of state and I have kids. I chose my family over a career and I would do that again!!

when you already have a family i think it would be inhumane to choose career over them (especially in your situation if your man is away)

well, for me,my family wud always hold more importance than my career. It's because of my family's support and guidance that i have been able to choose a career path.It is possible to rebuild ur career if it is disrupted in furture thru hard work, but sacrificing ur family for a better career wud only worsen the close bondage between the family members

but i think it is hard to rebuil your career once you drop it... in my country it is hard to build up career by defoult and career "mistakes" as choosing family (for big important jobs only) could end fataly

In my situation, I find that is hard to balance both. I would in fact choose my family over career, but I find it hard to support a family unless I put a lot of time into work. It's I have more time with them but less money, or I make more money but I have less time. I am thinking of starting a homebased business built around my family. That would make me truly happy.

it is hard to cope withboth... yes maybee home based buisness is the answer... but only if you have an idea that would/will work for you.
