ATWT - Is Paul really dead?

Does anyone have the scoop on this? Is Paul really dead? Has the actor left the show? I know Paul supposedly died before and came back as a different actor (I really liked Scott Holyrod). I have the feeling he is not dead because the necklace was found on land, not in the water. I think it is silly that everyone in Barbara's family has to die on this show. So, does anyone really know for sure?
