Red light runner!

Ok be honest how many of you run lights when they are yellow/red?? I try not to but sometimes its just so easy tostep on that gas pedal. Well the other day I did a full on, red light, illegal turn! I was sitting at the red light and got a call on my cell phone. For some reason..I was probably distracted (ok I was) I turned left on this red light..which you cant do! Not there! Good for me there were no cops..and nobody coming my way! Now I just have to sit, wait, and hope this wasnt an intersection with a camera! Those tickets are expenssive! Stupid..stupid..stupid!

To be honest? Yes, I have.. But I only do it late at night, when no one's around and at intersections where I know for a fact there aren't any cameras! :P Other than that, depending how far I am to the intersection, I'll step on the gas if it's a yellow light. Otherwise, I'll just wait for the next green. Sometimes I hear myself telling the other person in front of me to hurry up if it's already yellow because I don't wanna be stuck behind the red.. Hehe..

I don't run red lights. But if a light turns yellow and I'm fairly close to the intersection, I'll keep going. I don't want to slam on my breaks. It all depends on what will cause the greater problem: slamming on my breaks and risking my car fishtailing, or possibly hurting myself, or going through a yellow if I think I have enough time and distance,

Hello and welcome to MyLot araemom! I don't think you're the only one that's done it. I know I have run a few that switched from yellow to red just as I passed under them. Sometimes, in our area, you can get on a roll of red lights, so if you're close to getting thru one, it's hard not to speed up. It makes you wonder just how sensitive those cameras are. Luckily, it sounds like you didn't cause too big of a traffic incident, lol. Hopefully you won't get a ticket. :)
