I used to work in lots of managerial positions. I was a manager, a deputy director, a consultant, etc. Now, I am a full-time stay at home mom. But I don't consider myself to be "just" a housewife. Choosing to stay at home and take care of our child was a joint decision between my husband and I. We wanted to give our child the best start in life and we know no one else can take care of him better than me. Staying at home also gives me the opportunity to really give my best in being able to take care of all the household chores, cooking, pay the bills, run errands, tending to my family, etc. Now, instead of just one career, I feel like I have multiple careers. I am a financial manager, driver, cook, health practitioner, teacher, gardener, etc. You should be so proud of your sister. Choosing to stay at home is NOT an easy choice as a lot of people seem to think...especially if she is a mom. If you think she only stays at home and does nothing...you're greatly mistaken.

Amen! Being a housewife is a job! A magazine recently did a count up of all the jobs a housewife does, like maid, cook, ect, and the salary the housewife should have made if paid correctly, is over 100 thousand dollars!
