as for me it depends on the culture you belong, there are countries that matters the important of family background on how the upbringing of the person by his family, there are also that who lives in an independent world means what matters is the personality of person on how he/she dealt in a situation having a family.

Family is the basic foundation of our society meaning its one of the element of how we become. Our family is our first teacher in everything. But it doesn't mean that if we belong to a broken family we'll not be a good citizen. It does affect ones personality but as individual it is us who make or break our life.

For me, it does not make any difference, it depends on the personality of the person. However, in reality, most people look at people base on their family backgrounds to know their type of persons they brought them up (parents). Some say that most likely, people associate their behaviors on their experiences during childhood, on the teachings of the parents, on the environment in their houses, etc.
