Top tourists spots for Chicago and surrounding area?

I am going to Chicago with my family soon. Anyone have any good ideas of where to visit while there. My children are 1 and 4 so it can't be anything too adult. We are actually going to be camping about thirty minutes from Chicago, so ideas in the surrounding area are great too!
