The only reason my 3 yr old son started sleeping with me is because his Dad was working out of state and so I wanted him in my bed...his room is at the other end of the house and I wanted him beside me. I know...BAD HABIT! Now I put him in his bed at night but he still wakes up and gets into mine. Any tips on how to keep him in his bed?

some children like to have a night light, some relaxing music, and a blanket/pillow/pillow case from your room. A 2-way radio/walky talky works great too. Teach your child they can just press the button anytime they feel they need to talk to you. My husband works nights and my daughter is a terrible asthmatic so I started her sleeping with me when she was little. I still let her in my bed when he is at work, but I use a baby monitor to when she is in her room to make sure I can here if she is having problems breathing. Plus she has the walky talky in her room if she wants me.

Yea...he has a touch lamp in his room, it gets real dim so its like a night light. He always sleeps with his fave blanky and pillow. We have even tried putting a tv in his room so he can watch thomas while he falls asleep. Nothing seems to be working though. I'll just keep trying...thanx for the response.

I wish you luck.. you can pick up walky talkies for around $10 and let him know that you are right there.. if he wants to talk to you all he has to do is push the button.. do you think that would work?

We moved her from a crib to a queen sized bed in her room. She sleeps better in the queen size bed. If I sit or lay beside her for about 10 minutes at night she will sleep all night in her room.

My dad worked out of town (well he still does) But anyways.... My mom hated being alone at night, so she had me sleep in her room. When i was 8 i told her i wanted to sleep in my room, and she got upset. So i went to bed, well she decided to make weird noises to scare me, so i would come in there lol. My mom still doesnt like to be alone, but she has 2 dogs lol.

I had that same problem with my 4 year old son. What I did was decorated his room with one of his favorite characters, Superman. He has superman sheets, pillows, and a nite light. Since he shares the room with his brother, it works out fine. He's not scared. I have the nightlight because he is afraid of the dark. Once he saw his new room, he quickly wanted to sleep in there and not in mines.
