there seems to be more of a push for women (married or not)to take vacations with girlfriends to 'let their hair down' as they have to be professional at work, 'on duty' when at home when kids and spouses are involved and it seems that a holiday with their friends is the only way that they can relax...i heard this on the radio this morning, but i have never had a vacation with my friends...so what do you think about this?

i think and have thought for many yrs, this is the only way for a woman to really relax, have fun and get away from her every day routines. i have done this a few times and it's amazing just how much a woman can bebnfit from it ! imagne, just leaving it all behind for a little while....sounds like fun to me...lol.....afterall, we need to recharge, have fun and relax just as much, if not more...then men do. besides, men have done this for a long time. many go on hunting trip, fishing trips etc....with their friends ! and maybe at one time this was necessary because they were the hunters feeding their family etc...but for it to continue while women were not allowed the same rights, has driven me insane for many yrs ! most women do not have the benefit of leaving it all behind, for even a wk end...just to hang out with friends doing whatever makes them happy. we hare held to a higher accountability....filled with responsibility, mainly because we have children. and this really upsets me ! we did not have these children alone, it takes two to tango..but men, all they have to say is...me and the boy's are planning a fishing trip, and they get the freedom to just pack up and go. why ? well, safe to say..this no longer applies, since women are finding out they deserve the same r & r, as their men do ! although some will need a swift kick ..in the you know where, to get them to believe, this is okay for them to do, since many feel guilty at leaving it all behind, especially if they have kids ! i say, it's time for us to have the same freedom of relaxing, excaping the daily grind etc, as our men do ! and i bet when we get back...we'd be a whole lot happier...because it seems to work wonder for the men, right ! lol life is way too short to be on the go, responsible etc..day after day, yr after yr...so it's about time we saw the light that we too deserve a break ! i did and believe me...there is nothing like having no responsibilities for a whole wk end...but, men have known this for yrs !!!! so, let's just do it, ladies !!!!

I think it would probably be good with a combination. Everyone needs to be able to relax and have some time to themselves. Maybe we need to be able to be just a friend sometimes. Without responsibilities to kids and spouses. I think it is a good idea once in a while

When I was younger I always used to go away with my family or friends. I used to enjoy those holidays a lot. I've now been married a few years and haven't been away with friends for more than a weekend at a time. I couldn't imagine going away with anyone but my husband for an extended period of time. Afterall he is my best friend and thus there is no one with which I can let more of my hair down than with him!! Of course if we were allowed a lot more vacation time from work then I don't think I'd mind squeezing in a trip with some girl friends at all ;-)
