Are you getting more sentimental as you get older?

I find that things in my life mean more to me as I get older. Especially family traditions and memories. I remember so vividly the holiday traditions when I was a child. Things we did year after year and looked forward to. . .especially at Christmas. I remember family vacations. I remember that my dad was off every Thursday - so every Thursday during the summer we would take a day trip as a family. I am 34, happily married with 2 children and I want that for my family. I want my children to have traditions and happy memories to pass on to their children and grandchildren.

dawn of our life... - we all do passing the dawn stage of our life... we just have to learned to be grateful that once in our life we lived the way we want to be...
i think we all do more sentimental as we get older... we become very appreciative of the things we neglect during our younger years. we became very attentive to the needs of others or our loved one... maybe thats the result of all the trials and lesson we have earned thru the years...

I too am becoming more sentimental as I age. I can recall such a great childhood and Christmas at our house was full of tradition. My mom was a Christmas person and made every last detail perfect for us kids every year. She has passed away now and things have changed and will never be the same so I treasure the memories and try to keep up some of the traditions.

I have become more sentimental in the sense of I long for the ability to keep the routine and traditions of my family but I have actually outgrown the 'short-term' sentimentality in the sense that I now have thrown away a lot of the things that used to hold sentimental value etc
