Filipinos are fund of eating balut. Balut is a fertilized duck egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. They are considered delicacies of asia especially in the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, baluts are mostly sold by street vendors at night in the regions where they are available. They are often served with beer. Balut is one that is found in the tv series "Fear factor." The challengers can't seem to look or even smell the balut because of the baby chick inside. I think they find it yucky and gross. But filipinos, they can even finish the balut in 12 pieces. Yeah! So, can anyone of you ever dare to eat balut?

I have many filipino friends and I never heard them talk about that. Honestly, that sounds gross, but then again, my family is romanian and I have many several 'gross' delicacies! Personally NO WAY. I don't think I could because of the feathers. Do they eat the bill too? what about the feet? OK, now I am eating lunch and don't think I can finish! LOL Bon Apetit!
