it is really strange. one day, when i was reading newspaper,i noticed two news. one of them was about that a famous singer spared no effort to help abandoned pets. if the pets have feeling,i think they may feel very happy. but``````another one was about African. there were some pictures of children. the children were so```so``` i cant describe them. they were suffering hungry and war. they are suffering hungry and war. will they be suffering hungry and war in the future? then i noticed the first news again. suddenly,i felt very angry. i asked myself :"why didn't the singer do something for the suffering people?" why? is a pet more important than a person? i am puzzled.

haniczhao, More strange than the issue you have presented - the famous individual helping pets versus people - is the fact that "helping others" is preached worldwide in almost every single country, yet is not practiced very often. Most societies, no matter what culture or race, project messages all the time that "It is better to give than to receive," "helping your fellow man is a virtuous thing to do," and "you should help those less fortunate than yourself." The messages very but all say a similar thing - that we should all help others. BUT Nobody is really bound to those messages. They aren't held responsible to carry those messages out, even if they are speaking the words and asking others to help others. No person really has the responsibility of helping others unless they choose to do so. I wish things weren't this way, but it seems that this is exactly how things are, globally, all over the world. There are countless situations of poverty, hunger, war, suffering, etc., that truly can be eased if everyone were to practice what they preach. But not a lot of people do. The fact that the famous singer you have in mind has been helping abandoned pets is still just as 'good' as someone who helps 'people,' I think - because the singer doesn't really have to but does anyway. People aren't the only creatures on earth that need assistance. If we step away from certain living life forms (pets and people), there are a great deal of other life forms that need our assistance. The rain forests, for example. There are people who choose to concentrate their efforts on environmental issues instead of 'social' issues and people issues. If there weren't certain individuals focusing on environmental or animal issues, these would just add even more to 'general issues' that are present all over the place. I'm glad that the singer you were reading about is helping abandoned pets. Maybe someone else will step up and help suffering people. There are a lot of celebrities working for 'people' causes, too. I'm not sure your singer was disregarding 'people' in the attempts to help animals, but it is obvious that in that singer's circumstance, the singer has arranged time specifically to fit 'abandoned pets' into his or her life. If everyone did what they felt capable of for a cause that wasn't directly related to things in their home - whether the cause was for animals, the environment, or people, I'm sure the world would be a better place.
