Hello, I was just wondering what people's favourite travel destination is that they've been to so far. I hope to make this discussion into a little mini 1000 things you must see before you die!! I'm going to cheat already and put two ideas up! One of them is grand teton national park in Wyoming, USA. I've been so lucky in being able to travel there twice and it is a truly breath-taking place. The mountains just soar from a flat plain. Truly beautiful! The second is a little headland near Kaikoura, New Zealand. Its got a name....somebody's overlook but I can't remember it! From there you get a 180 degree panorama of soaring mountains (there is a theme here!) Truly spectacular! I have to admit though...I've been to both in good weather....probably not as spectacular in bad!!

My favorite travel destination so far has to be the beautiful islands of Samoa in the South Pacific Ocean. I went there on my way back from New Zealand. The beaches had golden sand, waving palm trees and superb snorkeling in the blue sea. I liked seeing the culture of the local people with a village chief and the lovely looking traditional homes. I stayed on a tiny island in a open thatched building. It was delightful to feel a light breeze coming from the sea and to hear the waved gently crashing on the shore line. I went to the rain forest and saw fruit bats. It was exciting to find a Polynesian pyramid amongst the trees. The waterfalls were lovely to bathe in. I so loved my time there.
