Our community association is a royal pain in the a$$ and we just got a letter from them saying that there are weeds in our flower beds. I have to get out there now and do it but am totally uninspired. I need you best supportive pep talk to get me out there.

I say just get out there and do it! If it's for the community you know how much of a difference your making? People do appreciate things and think of how great you're going to feel in the end. The feelings are just something you really can't explain, but it's rewarding. I have done community service and I rewarded myself just by helping others. I'm not sure if this is really what you mean, but I hope it helps :). good luck and get ur booty off that chair and DO IT! LOL.

Next year grow a natural garden, mix of native wildflowers and whatever else blows itself into the plot. Weeds are plants and deserve to live too. I hate that people here have such a thing against dandelions, they are grown in flower beds everywhere else in the world and even added to salad gardens for culinary purposes. I say leave the weeds and tell your association that you are praticing natural gardening.

Tell them that if they're in sucn a all-fired rush to get the weeds out, they can come and yank them out themselves!!! Also, God created weeds just as He created flowers, and some weeds are pretty. Instead of telling people what to do, the Neighbourhood ASSociation needs to do their own bloody work.

Get rid of the flowers, and you won't have weeds and you can tell them to shove it sideways, or go shiit in a hat. Heck if they don't like, why don't they take care of it? Tell them to get the complainers together to start a garden club, and let them take care of it all.

I hate that even though you own your own home that because you choose to put it in a community someone else can tell you what and when to do it. I can understand it to a point, but come on there must be far worse things to deal with than weeds.

I hear you, we lived in a gated community and if your grass is not green enough, then they complain .

Gees, they give out letters if you have weeds in your flower bed. Only pep talk I know is go out there and get it done so you don't have to think about it. Glad I am not apart of any association that dictates what my yard looks like. When it comes to my flower bed, I'm always working in it, just wish I could keep the flowers in bloom. Even with water, to much sun is killing them.

They aren't weeds, just misguided plants that are seeking safe haven. My former dwelling was smack dab in the middle of one of those "gated communities"; I got a letter for having those tacky pink lawn flamingos on the yard. After that - it was all over - I bought every plastic and ceramic lawn "thing" I could find. They didn't like me. If you need inspiration to pluck the plants ... humm .. you could sing a Disney tune or wear a huge sombrero or sun hat. I'm not very good at pep talks. I tend to swear too much and smack people on their bum.

You have kids, right? If it were my mom, her four children would have been out there pulling the weeds. We might have gotten about 50 cents for it, if we were lucky. :) But I suppose it's already done by now, so ah well. Keep that in mind for next time, though. Kids are great for helping with easy yard work. :)
