How much time do you take?

Dear friends, after reading a new discussion, how much time do you take to decide whether you are going to reply to it or not ...10 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds...or 60 seconds or more than that? After going through a new discussion, I usually take 30 to 60 seconds to decide whether I am going to reply to a discussion or not, otherwise, I close it. If I feel I can contribute something, then only I go for reply, otherwise I donot. How about you? Thanks in advance,

I think I take about 5 seconds to decide whether or not to respond. I have so many notifications, that I can not possibly waste time deciding. Usually is is very easy to make a decision within 5 secs. Occassionally though, when I am not sure about responding, I have to load up the discussion., & spend more time thinking about it.

hmm.. generally i take about 2/3 seconds at minimum to decide that!:) but on some discussions it takes me as long as 1 day to respond to them..it's because it's a serious discussion or a discussion which really requires a much thoughtful response!:)

It really depends on what the discussion is all about. If its asking a quick question then a couple of seconds. If its more detailed then it might take me a little while to respond. Sometimes if I don't have time to answer it then, then I come back to it later in the day or next day too.

I act differently. I read the headline post, if it intrests me , i go on and read the whole post. i do not read the whole paragraph to decide if i will respond or not, i think that i know what i connect to.

Lira! You are right heading of discussion plays an important part...sometimes, we start writing simply after seeing the heading of a discussion. BUt sometimes, I find that heading does not match with the contents of the discussions...then I get confused...whether to write or talk about contents or the heading. I try my best to give the heading relevant to the discussion.

I decide immediately after reading the email notification. If I find value in the discussion or when I can have some fun, I respond directly. If the discussion proves a challenge and I decide to take up the challenge, I flag the email so that I can look into it after I have done my other responses.

If the discussion looks like realy interesting for me and ideas came into my mind emmidiately sometimes it does not reach for a minute., specially if I can rely on the subject and have personal experiences involved in the discussion. But If I feel a little confuse and no ideas came up into my mind and no personal experienced sometimes after reading the discussion I don't mind to respond or even not to continue to read.

Never really thought about it that much about how much time it takes for me to respond. I just find discussions that I can respond to a lot of things. I mean, interesting discussions perhaps which I can relate to so that I can respond more than those discussions which I have no idea responding to. If time matters, I think directly. After reading the discussions, if its interesting.. Ill respond.. If I dont have something to say, I move on to the next one. That simple. :)

I often take about 20 second to choose a discussion to reply. Sometimes I might take over 5 minutes to decide it when the discussion are too long. My native language is not English, and I have few chance to chat with others in English, so if it is too long, I have to take more time to read it. Sometimes I spend only 1 second to decide it, because the topic is connected with other countries, such as India. I'm not an indian, so I know little things about it.

Am jack of all, so i respond to most of the disucssions and share my opinion. I also just look into discussions if i think i have no idea and learn from them. Howeber it all takes less than a minute. The only discussion that really contemplated was "what would you do, if you know this is going to be your last day"?. I podered over that for a while. I took a pencil and started scribbling down, and finally i could't come up with a single thing but i came up with four.

Hi! Well, it does not take me long, say 10 seconds or even less for me to decide if i am going to reply. I know my interests, & for some if I feel I have a relevant answer, or somewhere I can really help--I reply. Best Wishes, www.creatingcolourfulfuture.com

Hi Friends, I usualy take 20-30 secto decide whether i should reply or not. If I find that, I have some information that I can share than I reply immediatly or If I donot haveany matter to share with others on that topic than I will leave it and will move forward.

For effective responses, I take close to 1 minute to comprehend and come up with a quality response to a discussion! Giving some time to understanding a discussion is good-problem is there often temptations to go by the heading, like in the case of your topic, some people just read "how much time do you take?" and they respond! Here you may miss the gyst of the discussion!
