Root of all evil?

Do you believe that money is the root of all evil? On a personal note, I really don't think so. We all know that everyone needs money in this world, no matter how much. Even the indigenous tribes who live in the mountains do need money to purchase clothes, and buy food even if they do plant several edible veggies and fruit-bearing plants or trees. And, money is not only used to achieve a crime. We use it to buy our various necessities in life, to pay bills, to pay for our children's education, for our family's future, for retirement, and for other purposes that we may go through this life. We may even use it to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters. These & a lot more reasons are not evil, right? I guess it is more appropriate to say that 'money is a means to put an evil intention to action.' I believe that it really depends on an individual if he is going to use money to achieve his negative purpose. We should never let money use us or to let it be our primary factor in all our dealings. How about you? Do you let it rule you?

i think its how you get the money that can corrupt you, if you worked very hard for that money , then you will feel good spending it,if you just fond it on a bench, then you wont

Yeah, I get your point. You'll be very proud of yourself if you worked hard to earn the money. In comparison, one should feel guilty if he hasn't even lifted a finger just to acquire a sum of money or a property.

It is not the money, but the greed of getting more at the expense of others. People who pay sub wages and control others with their money is evil. The people who have money are not the problem. Evil people with money is a problem.

I agree with you. As a matter of fact, this is what I believe in. It is not evil to have so much money as long as it does not originate from evil sources or misdoings to others & it should never be used to inflict pain and harm to other people. God bless.

Hello Mykmari_08, Money is the biggest necessity in life and one must have enough to make ends meet comfortably and save for a rainy day. I at times wish I had enough money to buy whatever I want without haveing to see the price tags. Money may have evil effects in very rich families where each once vives with the other and jealousy rules. But it is necesary to have enough. I know of a very rich Marvari man who goes out of his way to harass people, but goes to the ashram of his guru (Saint) and donates. Will this really help him in the eyes of the Almighty ?

Nothing is ever hidden in the Lord's eyes. We may be saints in the eyes of our fellowmen, more so for our benefactors; mainly for the donation we give. But God has a different weighing scale. He knows everything seen & hidden. As written in the Holy Bible or Scriptures, a man may be so rich or so poor to give as much, but the Almighty alone knows our hearts. We'll never know but we may guess or assume that the donations a person gives may not be enough as to equal with the harassment he inflicts on another. Thanks for responding, ketybhagat. Take a lot of care & God bless.
