Filipino Superstitions

yup! we have lots of superstitions here in the province.. my oldies practice them till now but i do not.. here are some: 1) don't cut your nails during Tuesdays and Fridays for it's the day of the "witches". 2) don't sweep at night for it's a bad luck. 3) don't continue going out somewhere when you meet a black cat on your way. it's also a bad luck! 4) don't sing while cooking for you'll marry an old man. there are so many superstitious beliefs that i don't practice. i just ignore them.. for me, what's the connection in our life.. i don't see any.. hehehe.

I don't really believe in them 100%. but if my Lolo says don't do that or do this because of its chuva ek ek, i always follow what she said. Anyways wala namang mawawala if sumunod ako sa kanya!

i know some. i practice them too. i do not wear hats or open an umbrella under a shade or a structure because bad luck may happen. i do not cut my nails during the night because loved ones may die. whenever i had a dream that i will be losing my tooth, i go to a tree and tell it first about my dream and bite into it because it is a sign that loved may die and to prevent it from happening. these are weird superstitions but come to think of it nothing will happen to me if i practice them.
