I have a bunch of stories that I wrote a few years back just laying around collecting dust. I know that AC accepts short story submissions but does anyone know if that pay for them and what the average offer is. If they pay then I'll probably just tweak the stories a little and put them up.

Last time I looked, AC still doesn't pay for fiction, so they wouldn't pay for your stories. However, I think you would get paid for the page views on any article you submit. If that's true, then the articles could generate you some money, but probably not much. I don't know of any sites that pay for short stories, unfortunately. Have you ever thought about submitting them to a magazine or something?

no, not really. I just thought if I could throw them up on AC and get a couple of bucks that would be fine...no biggie

You're better off writing articles which are requested topics at AC. I've sold one or two there, but may never reach payout level because they mostly want restaurant and club reviews in places I can't get to. They also take a chunk off the top, so if you're getting $20 per article (average to high side) you really only get about $17. I figure it's always worth a try. Go to paidopportunities.com to search the archives for other sites that pay writers for self-generated pieces.
