I think people take me wrong...

I have written a few discussions of the late meant to be a joke and to have a good laugh at, but some people take me wrong. For instance, the 5 second rule. It was meant to be a funny topic, but one person commented said that my information may make people go out and get sick! I wasn't saying I will eat everything off the floor, I too have standards. I will not eat it if it is off a dirty floor, especially at a restraunt or someone elses place. I will not eat something that isn't dry off the floor either, if it is a wetter food, of course dirt will stick to it! But come on people, cut loose a little, have a little laugh. Or for another instanse, I titled my discussion, "just for a laugh" and that is what I meant. I know exactly how bad alcohol abuse can ruin people's lives, and I wasn't meaning to offend anyone. So, for all of those who don't know me, I will tell you, you shouldn't take me wrong because a lot of the time, I just want to laugh, and create laughs. I think mylot is a great place to 'cut loose' a little, have some fun. But I do write serious posts as well, and i should think people would be able to tell the difference. But I guess people don't understand my sense of humor, do I have a warped sense of humor or something?

i suppose ur discussion always hits the wrong nerve,eh? Happens sometimes when some people are too obsessed with their thoughts they can't make out the difference in fun and serious matter. And so to say here people are from a different set of back grounds and each are taught something's funny and some thing's not.U may find something serious while the person sitting in the other corner of the world may see it humorous. So don't worry about it and keep posting.

Yes, you are right, some people come from different backgrounds, and what is funny to someone else, is offensive to others. Thanks for the response.

Yeah well, some people take things to seriously. lol The 5 second rule for me has never even related to food, its more along the line of if someone dropped money, or an item. Not usually something that you eat. Because dropping food on the floor and eating it is kinda a weird obsession to have.

Actually, it was about food LOL:D But still, it was meant to be something funny. I admit, I have done it if it, like I said, is a dry food. Plus my floors are swept and mopped every day, so what, right? You are right, people take things too seriously. Thanks for the response.

I hope you don't worry to much about it! I think some people don't get out much and their people skills get kind of rusty! Just be who you are and keep posting! Take care jennifer.

I completely understood what you meant with the 5 second rule discussion. Maybe only those of us with kids would understand. If we didn't use the 5 second rule with our kids we sure would waste alot of food. Some people are way too uptight. And others are just looking for something to complain about. Don't let it get to you. Keep goofing around and getting a laugh. I enjoy your discussions.

yup there are many that take things way too seriously on here and they think theirs is the only opinion that matters.

I am a firm believer in the five second rule, but not in the way most people are. Many people are under the misconception that you need to grab it in under five seconds to avoid bacteria, the truth is you need to grab that food in under five seconds so people don't realize you are eating off the floor. Some people WANT to be offended so they can complain. They will misinterpret things either intentionally or subconsciously just to feed their desire to be offended and retaliate.
