Sampson - Sampson sniffing his dinner
The story of Samson is a Myth. The bible is a complete myth. There is not one iota of true History in the whole bible. This fact has been proven over and over again. Look it up on the internet if you want the facts.

Sampson and Delilah - My favorite story.
Not being a great Catholic I thought I would look this up and found some very interesting information about Sampson. The story of Sampson and Delilah has always been one of my favorites. It leads me to believe that he did achieve his mission here on earth and since God still loved him he was a hero. Judges 16:28-30) In spite of Samson's past, God still answered his prayer and destroyed the pagan temple and worshipers. God still loved him. He was willing to hear Samson's prayer of confession and repentance and use him this final time. http://www.studybibleforum.com/spages/Judges.htm

i do not believe you. how can someone who sinned against God and the people of God be a hero. He did not fulfill his mission. i was surprised to hear you say he fullfilled his mission. delilah took his power away after sleeping with him, he really offended God. Tell the actual place in the bible that stated he was a hero.

Well, then if sinning against God and the people of God disqualifies him then you better throw out Moses, Noah, David, Adam, Paul and all the other people in the Bible.

First of all, it is not up to us to judge whether or not someone is going to or went to heaven or hell. That is judging wrongly. Only God can do this type of judging (called "krino" as in John 7:24, 8:15,16; 12:47-48 and is "pronouncing judgment, decreeing, or da.m.ning"), we are forbidden to do it. We can guess or speculate about someone long gone like Samson, but it is not up to us to know for sure or act as if it is up to us. I believe that perhaps God forgave Samson in the end because Samson humbled himself before God and pleaded with God to once more give him the strength and help to do what God had originally called him to do--to kill the Philistines because of their wickedness before God (Judges 16:29-31) and in his last act, he killed more than he had in his whole lifetime (which is a lot!). We can only guess that perhaps God forgave him and God-willing, he went to the righteous part of Sh'ol (also called Abraham's bosom, or Paradise, by Jesus Christ). That's another whole topic which I may post.
