NBA's Worst Nightmare Could Be Realized..

Tension are rising due to investigation that is being conducted by an FBI agent around the league because of allegations charged on Referee Tim Donaghy, a 13 year year veteran. Accordingly the referee is invovle in bet on basketball games for the past two season including the ones in which he officiated.. Authorities are examining whether the referee had made calls to affect the points that spread in games on which he and associates bet on..
--This is considered to be a huge scandal if ever proven guilty. The referees of any game has the power to control over the point system of the game.. The NBA's back is on the wall here.. Could you just imagine the effect on us fans if this was true.. What's your opinion guys..?

I was completely shocked to hear this as I did not expect anything like this to happen in the NBA. This referee really disgraced himself, the league, his family and friends and everyone else. This could most definitely hurt the image of the NBA. I wonder if this referee has any kind of criminal background. Only time will tell with what will happen next as the investigation will take a while.

Thats true, the NBA community are all ears on this issue.. Can you imagine what woul GM's, coaches, and the players would feel if they've learned that the games they put their life on are actually cooked or fixed.. I just hope for the best for the NBA.

I think this situation may make the league take a look at other referees or come up with some kind of testing to prevent this from happening again. It also makes me wonder if this is happening in other sports. I love basketball so this was disheartening news.

Interesting. I haven't watched bball in a while because the Knicks such. But it's not really shocking. Ish like this goes on in a lot of sports.

I understand, but c'mon this is the NBA.. There are Millions of fans around the world who would get upset if this issue is proven to be true.. It is considered to be an international leauge already because of the aquisitions of foreign players and it would be a huge scar on the image of the NBA.. I really wish for the best for the leauge..tnx for the response.

I did hear about this- and I'm sad to say that I think it will have a huge effect on us fans as well as the players- How many times have we seen a game where we the fans could see terrible calls- throughout the game- A 1 sided game called- thinking the refs had been paid off- If this is the case and this ref is guilty- I think the league will be checking the games he refed and double check them- it will be all over the news and internet - Will we ever think anything other than- the refs are being paid again- All from 1 person doing the wrong thing- I know it will be in the back of my mind from now on when watching-

That's true because i feel the same way.. Its really sad just to imagine it.. Whatever comes out in the investigation I hope it is not that destructive to the image of the leauge.. I hope its just an isolated case and or the sold calls happened to few games that really had no effect on the overall outcome of any season..

Really? i din't here the news. So what is it gonna be now? what happened to that stupid and damn referee. What did Commisioner Sternsaid about this issue. Would it affect all the games that has been played from the past season. Oh my this is really alarming to us fans.

I cannot answer yur questions for now my frien,, i believe the leauge is discreet about it. Although there is already an investigation on the process.. I believe the leauge is just waiting for the right momment before they release any comment about this issue. So let's just wait and be hopeful that it isn't that bad..tnx
