Reading at the table

Do you read at the table when you're eating? I'll read while I eat alone, but I don't read while I'm eating with others? When I do read read its books that Ive reached a point that I just can't put it down. How about you?

I will also read at the table when I am alone. I think it's rude to read and eat when there are others at the table.
If I'm hungry enough, I can ALWAYS find a stopping point in the book. Or I'll just make a plate and eat in my chair.

Sometimes I wonder while I'm eating. Usually we don't eat at the table unless we have company. Then I am busy with them and don't worry about the book.

I tried to read in the tub once, and I ended up ruining my book. I should only read those books for kids, with the soft plastic pages in the tub.

This is my boyfriends computer and he gives me nasty looks if I eat while I am on it. I deserve it though, because I once dropped beans on the keyboard and accidently pulled off a letter trying to clean all the beans up.

Oh absolutely! It used to drive my Mom crazy. But, sometimes I just can't help it. I can't put the book down! Forget the newspapers...just give me a book and I'm fine. Thankfully, My hubbie doesn't mind, as he does the same thing. I was reading the 6th Harry Potter book and I just couldn't put the thing down long enough to eat. It's so bad, that I take any book I am reading with me when we go out to dinner, at least most of the time. If I go to McD's for lunch, I'll take my book with me. I know I am not the only one. But, hey, the bookworms of the world should unite and have lunch. It would be kind of quiet, huh?:)

Yes I read at the table when I am eating,especially at breakfast. I live alone so it takes the place of talking to a companion.
It is so long since I have read a book that I couldn't put down that I am wondering if any more exist. I love psychological and medical thrillers and have read all of Stephen white's, Tess Gerritson's and Patricia Cornwall's as well as numerous other authors that my library has. Who is your favourite thriller writer? Which of their books did you enjoy most?
