If you witnessed a crime, do you immediately report on the police?

Some concerned citizens do this , but you are you concerned enough to report it immediately to the police or you don't stake your life on it.

It will depend to the type to crime i witnessed. if its a petty crime like pickpockets...why not? but if it involve a well known dangerous criminal, i may have to think twice and weigh the situation to see if my life would be in danger.....or if possible just leave an anonymous tip.
