Need orginization tips

I live with my husband and two little boys in basically one room, 12´ x 15´. We have a second, smaller room where my toddler sleeps, but we live in the main room and the rest of us also sleep there. The kitchen area is outside. I need help with ideas for keeping the clutter down. Every day, it just gets worse, no matter how often I clean. I´m going a bit nuts trying to control the mess, because we simply don´t have enough space for everything! Here is what we have for furniture in the main room: - a large entertainment center with 3 doors for storage underneath (full of movies and papers) - 2 computer desks - a double bed (shoes and such under the bed) - a small bookshelf beside the bed - the baby´s bassinet on top of two chairs - a table in one corner that holds our groceries because the dogs get into kitchen - a large wardrobe with four drawers and a narrow closet space. My husband, baby and I share this and it doesn´t hold all of our clothes. In my toddler´s room is where all the laundry piles up because we simply don´t have anywhere to put it. The main problem is that my boys are just 17 months apart and so I can´t get rid of the older one´s clothing that is too small because it will shortly fit the little one! We are in the (very slow) process of building another main room in front, but that won´t be done for ages, so in the meantime, any ideas would be much appreciated.
