Have you ever been fired from a job?

I was fired from a commission sales job I took shortly after I graduated college. It was both liberating and devastating. I hated the job and obviously wasn't performing well (hence the dismissal), but it still rankled me a bit to have it not be my idea to go. However, the owner liked me for some reason and told me when he let me got that he routinely fought unemployment compensation claims but that he would not fight mine and encouraged me to file for my pennies to have some money while I looked for another job. He also wrote me a glowing reference letter that said that the job was a very poor fit for me but that in the right position I was an excellent employee.

ive never been fired but this job i have now i think im pushing to get fired.i work hard and do whats excpected of me and its the best job ive ever had BUT my personal life is getting difficult ive been getting sick alot missing an hour here and there.making mistakes at work...i dont know how to turn it around?do you have any advice? i try one day at a time but things keep happening without my control.for instance my car broke down believe it or not three times in two weeks made me late.i had two doctors appointments..my husbands been ill.my nephew is in the hospital critcal condition.i work for 8am till 6pm and i have personal business to handle during those hours banking so fourth trying to buy a house.i was offered a permant position becuase im a temp but it was to much stress and responsibility and i think they are holding that against me as well. i have a year contract but will be up in Jan.two months ago before all these issues i was givin a 1 raise and all the overtime i wanted now i can even get my 40 hours....help what do i do to budget my time and become less stressed and win back my bossses confidence in me. i never leave early without at least all my work done.

I haven't been fired from any jobs, yet. I have quit jobs for various reasons, but I haven't quit any since the early 90's. My three favorite jobs wound up been restructured out of the organization. That totally sucked! I am still suffering from the last one that occurred in January. It seems to have caused a black spot on my resume, because I have only had five interviews in 6 months!
